Sheri Tarr is a commercialization, compliance, and regulatory strategist with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical sector, and the still emerging cannabis and hemp industries. She first held leadership positions in sales and marketing with global responsibility in Fortune 500 pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Sheri then became an attorney who spent her career in the courtroom holding pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers accountable for deceptive marketing practices and defective manufacturing. More inspired by innovation than litigation, Sheri founded a consultancy dedicated to helping life sciences and cannabis companies build sustainable businesses that have a transformative impact on consumers, patients, and the global economy.

Sheri has amassed over three decades of real-world experience operating in a highly-regulated environment — from concept to consumer to exit — and a deep understanding of the complex organizational, business, and regulatory challenges faced by stakeholders. As a pharmaceutical executive turned litigator, Sheri understands the tension between risk and profit– and how to strike the right balance. Using her deep business and legal know-how, Sheri works with clients to develop practical commercialization strategies and regulatory pathways that balance financial objectives with foreseeable risk.

Sheri’s specialties include straight-talk and practical advice; commercialization planning and strategies; regulatory guidance; cannabis licensing applications consulting; risk mitigation and best compliance practices; review of promotional materials, packaging and labeling; brand analysis and product launch strategies; partnership development, and advocacy before regulators, adjudicators, investors and critical audiences. Over the course of her expansive career, Sheri’s work has involved products that cover the spectrum of life sciences, including CBD- and hemp-derived products from topicals to tinctures to food; medical devices; clinical laboratory testing kits and equipment; pharmaceuticals; cancer diagnostics and therapeutics; personalized medicine; biomarker technologies; SaaS sales training systems, and beyond. Her clients include emerging and mid- to small-cap companies, cannabis license-holders and applicants, C-suites, investors, law firms and other service providers.

A University of Michigan alum and Illinois Institute of Technology-Chicago-Kent College of Law graduate, Sheri serves as Director and Regulatory Committee Co-Chair of NYC Cannabis Industry Association, is a frequent speaker in the cannabis ecosystem, and volunteers as a voter protection advocate and election monitor.
